New Album on the Horizon From Bob Findlay
A few months ago Scots-born rocker Bob Findlay announced on his website http://scotsbob.webs.com that he would not be releasing another album due to financial and time constraints.
I contacted him a few days ago shortly after he had been interviewed by a local newspaper and he mentioned that he had been inundated with emails from his followers expressing their disappointment and requesting that he should release another album. "I was rather taken aback, actually," Findlay said. "I was getting emails from people in places where I never realised that I was known."
When asked when the album would be released Findlay became somewhat elusive. Whether this was deliberate I am unsure. From Findlays response I suspect that he is uncertain of an official release date himself. "I do have a name for it though," Findlay said but was unwilling to disclose this either. 99% of the material for the album is ready to be released and the further 1% "....just needs a wee bit of fine tuning. Nothing major."
Findlay did tell me, however, that the album is a slight departure from his two previous albums, 'Rough Edges' and 'Straight Lines'. "There's a bit more of a variation in some of the songs......not deliberate, it's just what came out and I'm happy with them. Findlay had intended to have an album released around Xmas, 2007, but found that the time and cost involved in mass producing, packaging and distributing were well beyond his means so he focussed on releasing his material in mp3 format via the internet.
Having listened to the two tracks from his upcoming album that Findlay has sent me I'm sure that his regular followers will be more than happy with it and I suspect that he may well gain a few more followers.
